What each of us associates with cemeteries, is certainly a personal response. But connecting it with powerful Arts? Beauty? An immense Gallery of Afterlife? Or even Life itself? The Breastfeeding Female Hero, associated with Charity, consciously placed in Recoleta Cemetery in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Compassionate nurturing a baby on her lab, supporting it with her left hand lovingly. The right one embraces attentively a on the ground standing small child, leaning on and into her in every possible way. Her right hand is like an additional pair of watching, magical eyes, a mother somehow has! The atmosphere feels safe and natural, common and familiar. To extract exactly this emotion, I have decided to set “Recoleta’s Real Hero” on a neutral monochromatic background, adding carefully a vintage, painting-like layer, embracing her in detail-rich cracks, that dissolve seemingly in the background. This days of amazement and praise worth statue placed close to a mausoleum, showing the inscriptions of Doctor don Toribio de Ayerza. (1815-1884) He was a physician trained in Madrid and Paris, who arrived in Argentina in 1845 and with him the “trachaetomy”, which proved significant in treating children with diphtheria. Dr. Ayerza also founded the Argentine Red Cross with Guillermo Rawson in 1880 and the Laurak-Bat, a Basque club with a restaurant. The magic monument was designed by Miguel Sansebastiano, who immeasurably perfect represented and visualized love and responsibility in Motherhood.
